Tenants Protest Sale of Delta Govt Property in Lagos

Occupants of Plot 235 Apapa-Costain Road, a property of Delta State Government in Lagos State, managed by Delta Development Property Authority, DDPA, have protested the sale of the property and their proposed eviction.
Counsel to the occupants, George Utomhim, said: “Several petitions have been written to Delta State Government on this matter and if indeed this planned eviction is true, then it is a grave injustice that must not be allowed to happen. When the General Manager of DDPA was reached on this matter he declined to comment saying his hands were tied and the occupants should explore all lawful media available to exercise their rights since they are occupants of the premises. I vow to pursue all lawful means including a mass peaceful protest by all tenants and civil society groups to Delta State liaison office in Lagos and Delta State Government House, Asaba, to ensure that this grave injustice does not happen.”
