The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Wasiu Anifowoshe has said that Government has commenced the review of Ikeja Model City Plan which became operative in year 2010 in order to ascertain the level of compliance with the provisions of the plan and improve on its gains. Anifowose explained that the review was part of efforts of the present administration to create a better Lagos where infrastructure would not only be adequate but of high standard befitting its status as a mega city. He added that the exercise would include the evaluation of the level of performance in the area of infrastructural provision, conflict of land use, transportation, sanitation, security, housing, population, recreation and tourism among others.

Land is undoubtedly a major factor in the social and economic development of every country, it serves as a social security function to most people because after all else have failed, land still returns to the owners for use. It is perhaps the most important natural resource, in the sense that it affects every aspect of people’s lives. Proof of title to land is the protection and degree of control which a person has over any given land. Proofing title to a land surfaces when there is need to buttress the ownership claim to a land and title registration is mainly to protect property rights, to facilitate transactions in land, and to enable land to be used as collateral for a loan. A system of land title registration identifies each individual land parcel and provides confirmation by the state that the person named in the register has specified property rights in that parcel.

The Lagos State Government is set to complete the abandoned Ibeju-Epe Expressway as part of efforts to prepare Epe Division FOR in the ongoing development in the Lekki Free Trade Zone. The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr, Ganiyu Johnson stated this recently while speaking at a meeting with stakeholders on the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Lagos and Ayetoro roads, and other roads within the Oloja Estate at Epe. The Commissioner sought for the cooperation of the residents within the axis, especially property owners for a hitch free completion of the project within stipulated time, stressing that the economic benefit of the project after completion for the community is enormous.
