Lagos Urges Real Estate Practitioners to Register with LASRETRAD

The Lagos State Government has urged all the real estate practitioners operating in the State to register with the Lagos State Real Estate Transaction Department (LASRETRAD) in order to monitor and standardise the industry. Addressing members of the press on the activities of the Agency in her Office at Alausa recently, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Mrs. Aramide Giwason implored all estate agents and property service providers who are yet to register to do so with LASRETRAD to enhance adequate monitoring and compliance with international best practice in real estate business in Lagos.

Developer Introduces New Technology, to Deliver 10,000 Housing Units

With a new technology, Bohemian Estates Nigeria Limited has concluded plans to boost the Nigerian housing sector with the construction of 10,000 IS0 certified housing units at selected locations across the country. To this end, the firm is sourcing for $250million from Czech Export Bank for the project. Lagos Awards Contracts for Four New Master Plans

Akinwunmi Ambode Towards ensuring an orderly environment in the metropolis, the Lagos State Government has awarded contracts for the development of masterplans for four new settlements, namely Kosofe in Ketu-Mile 12 environ, Oshodi-Isolo, Ikorodu and Epe. So far, the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has completed and published six model city plans of Alimosho, Apapa, Agege/Ifako, Mainland, Ikoyi-Victoria Island, Badagry and Lekki to ensure that information about the master plans and model city plans are properly documented for the use of professionals in the built environment and the public.

FMBN, FHA to Sign MOU on National Housing Schemes

Housing In search for ways to meet government’s obligation of providing affordable housing to the teeming population, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) have agreed to sign an Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) to meet the President Muhammadu Buhari’s annual target of delivering one million housing units. The institutions also agreed to jointly explore opportunities for housing delivery through a number of on-going housing schemes such as the Accelerated Housing Scheme for selected federal MDAs, the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Scheme for federal civil servants amongst others.

Gunmen Invade Five Lagos Communities, Displace Residents

Lagos Releases N10bn for Completion of 114 LG Roads

The Lagos State Government has released the sum of N10.8billion to date to ensure completion of the ongoing construction of 114 roads across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the State by the end of June, 2016 In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Mr. Muslim Olohuntele Folami on Wednesday , the Government said that the construction of the roads was made possible through tax payers' money. The Commissioner said that the second stage payment of N5.5billon released on Monday represents 61 per cent of the total cost of the 114 roads at N17.85bn.

One of the affected buildings Residents of Okun-Mopo, in Lekki-Epe axis of Lagos State have appealed to the state and Federal Government to rescue them from the nefarious activities of land-grabbers, who are bent on forcefully taking their Sangotedo land from their rightful owners. According to them, the disputed land belongs to the traditional rulers of the Okun-Mopo community and is held in trust by the Isiaka, Oladehinde and Balogun families.
