Its founder, Mr. Godwin Ani, revealed that the platform would serve as a secure and conducive online destination and ecosystem for buyers, sellers, landowners and realtors to connect, make informed decisions and trade with ease.
He added: “At lands.ng, we are using technology to revolutionize the way Nigerians think about real estate – land value chain in particular, and thus providing a long term solution to the home ownership challenges and the living standard of our society”.
He described the platform as a digital marketplace solely for land listings and its associated services in Nigeria as well as a niche online destination for lands in Nigeria where buyers, sellers, landowners, realtors converge and interact to transact land businesses in a convenient and secure platform.
According to statistics released by the firm, some facts, which stand out among challenges confronting prospective land and homeowners in the country, include rural-urban migration figures standing at over six percent, the highest in the world, and the astronomical growing population of the middle class expected to more than double over the next 15 years to a record 21 million by the year 2030.
In the face of the above statistics, the percentage arable land in the country gulps 32.8 of its total land area, leaving a little above 65 percent to other sectors, including housing, industrialization and infrastructure.
Enumerating some of the successes of the online platform so far: “We have within a short period recorded over 14 million plots of land uploaded, more than 250 registered and certified Agents, multiple enquiries from over 12 states in Nigeria, rich information, dynamic listings, lead generation forms, access to credible data and much more”.
The former oil and gas manager explained that his passion for the online hub is driven by a firm belief that removing the barriers to land ownership and invariably housing for the populace, starts with providing Nigerians with the right information and a secured platform for interactions among land owners, agents and buyers.
He explained that there is now, more than ever, a need for a more robust offering for connecting investors, buyers and sellers against the backdrop of increased penetration of digital technology and new owners and investors coming into the Nigerian land market. This, he said, is what lands.ng has addressed with its introduction of advanced technology and security features on the site that is being managed by ADE Digital Media, a leading digital marketing agency in Lagos.
