FMBN, FHA to Sign MOU on National Housing Schemes

Housing In search for ways to meet government’s obligation of providing affordable housing to the teeming population, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) have agreed to sign an Memoradum of Understanding (MOU) to meet the President Muhammadu Buhari’s annual target of delivering one million housing units. The institutions also agreed to jointly explore opportunities for housing delivery through a number of on-going housing schemes such as the Accelerated Housing Scheme for selected federal MDAs, the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Scheme for federal civil servants amongst others.

Lekki Free Zone: Lagos Releases N1.6bn, Woos Investors

  The Lagos State Government has released the sum of N1.6billion as part of its equity contribution in the Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFDC) to boost the on-going infrastructural development as well as encourage investors’ participation in the project. The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, who disclosed this today at the 2016 Ministerial Press Briefing of the State Government in commemoration of the first year in office of Mr. Akinwunmi  Ambode at the Bagauda  Kaltho Press Centre , Alausa said he is engaging the host communities to ensure a sustainable cordial relationship with investors in the zone.

House asking Prices Hit all-time High of £299,287

Asking prices for properties in England and Wales have increased by £8,324 this month, according to Rightmove UK property asking prices have hit an all-time record high of almost £300,000, new data suggests. House sellers so far this month have been seeking an average of £299,287 across England and Wales, according to property website Rightmove. The figure is an increase of £8,324 or 2.9 per cent from the average asking price in January, and is £2,738 above the previous all-time high set in October 2015. The biggest increases were in London, where the average asking price has risen by 10.5 per cent over the last year, to £643,843, and in the East, where it rose 10.7 per cent to £321,630.
